This study investigated the impact of microfinance banks in banking sector development in Nigeria.
The data used in this study were collected from the period of 2006 to 2015. Regression results indicated
that micro-credits to mining and quarrying; and real estate and construction had a significant impact
on banking sector development in Nigeria. It was recommended that the policy makers should make
policies to enhance the microfinance banks in Nigeria because banking sector is significantly
contributing in the economic growth.
